Wadi Rum was one of the highlights of my visit to Jordan. I spent one night camping in the desert and watched the sunset from the top of a rocky outcrop. The weather was perfect – cloudless and not too warm. A few other people were around (at the base of the outcrop on the left and some on the plain below), but otherwise it was a very tranquil and peaceful spot. A highly recommended experience for anyone visiting Jordan!
Getting to the top of Padar Island is hard work in the heat – but so worth it for the view from the top. We did a day trip around Komodo National Park, leaving from Labuanbajo at sunrise. Our first stop was Padar Island, but even first thing in the morning it was incredibly hot. The 45 minute hike up with no shade didn’t help, but come one – for that view I’d happily do it again!
Newport is a beautiful town on the southern coast of Rhode Island – perfect for a day of wandering around checking out little boutique stores and drinking homemade lemonade! This place – Frazzleberries – sells a wide range of home decorations and is a great place to pick up something new for your place.
I spent a day in Newport, Rhode Island – a beautiful town to wander around with historic buildings. It’s a haunt of the rich and famous with incredible mansions built on the shoreline over the last century, some of which are now open to the public to visit. Nearby is this small lighthouse, built in 1890, called the Castle Hill Light.
Covered bridges have a romantic appeal to me – hard to explain, but the nostalgia and history they evoke somehow draws me in! This one is the Flume Covered Bridge, located on the way up to the Flume Gorge in New Hampshire in Franconia Notch State Park. It was built in the latter half of the 19th century.
